Hobbs (they/them, he/she) is a newly licensed associate counselor (LAC) under the supervision of Julia, bringing years of experience in both thriving and surviving. They graduated from Pennsylvania Western University with a degree in clinical counseling and will soon complete a Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Counseling Certificate. Hobbs practices from a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive perspective, witnessing clients holistically—mind, body, and soul. Their goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their stories, attachments, and emotions, while working together to find meaning, purpose, and strength in times of confusion, grief, and trauma.
Hobbs offers affirming therapy for many marginalized communities, including neurodivergent individuals, the LGBTQIA+ community, those engaged in ethical non-monogamy, sex-positive and kink-allied individuals, fat liberation advocates, body-affirming clients, and those questioning their spirituality. Their practice is continually evolving toward decolonization, with therapeutic techniques and modalities tailored to the client’s unique needs. Hobbs is experienced in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with a focus on radical acceptance, Solution-Focused Therapy (clarifying goals), Existential Therapy (exploring identity), Somatic Therapy (integrating mind and body), and, when requested, neuroscience-based approaches to understanding biological roots.
Outside of their professional work, Hobbs enjoys gaming—whether on PC, board games, or tabletop role-playing—along with knowledge-seeking, cooking, mindfulness practices, and ecological humanism, which embraces animism and honors ancestors. They also dabble in caring for houseplants, baking bread, and taking occasional walks. At home, they serve as the humble caretaker of kitty Gizzel, the grand curmudgeon.
